Dear Exchange Guests,
 
Thank you for choosing Vacation Club as your vacation destination.  This letter provides the necessary information to help you decide if this exchange is right for you.  We sincerely hope we can provide the vacation experience that will meet your expectations.
 
 
Our resort is located at Summit Village; we share property with Shanty Creek, though we are two separate companies.  Our Beach Club, which has access to Lake Bellaire, is a short drive from all of our condominiums.  Also, the closest Great Lake, Lake Michigan, is a 45 minute drive.  Pools on site are seasonal in nature; please contact us for current availability status immediately prior to your arrival.  There is a health spa/fitness area at Summit Village; these facilities are subject to a usage fee as they are open to guests as well as the general public.
 
The county in which Vacation Club lies is quite rural.  The closest cities, Traverse City, Charlevoix, Petoskey, and Gaylord, all lie outside of the county and are approximately a 45 minute to one hour drive to reach.  What is plentiful near our resort is the beauty of nature.  Numerous golf courses dot our area for recreation in the spring, summer and fall; with ski and snowmobiling opportunities in the winter months.  Nature trails provide year round enjoyment.  Antrim County boasts small villages with quaint stores to browse.
 
Each condominium complex at Vacation Club is unique in size, location, and amenities.  Most two bedroom units have a king bed/queen bed and a sofa sleeper.  If you or your guests cannot navigate more than two stair steps please call Vacation Club at 231-533-8123 to discuss your unit assignment.  All of our studios are upstairs and most have a "Murphy" style bed which pulls down from the wall.  We have three different types of one bedroom units of various ages.  The resort is built to follow the natural terrain of the area, because of this, most units have exterior stairs.  The number of stairs varies greatly, from just a few to 60 steps.  Unfortunately, elevators are not available in any of our condominium complexes.
 
The size unit that you have booked through your exchange company is the size unit you will occupy while at Vacation Club.  If the number in your party is more than the number listed on your exchange information, please contact your exchange company to book a larger unit them.  If you banked a larger unit with your exchange company, your exchange company received use of the unit, not Vacation Club.  Vacation Club is unaware of the size unit you have traded toward your exchange.  Please browse our website for more information about the resort, units, and amenities.
 
We have occasionally been told that exchange company personnel have guaranteed that a particular unit "has a lake view" or "is on the water" or "has no stairs."  Some exchange personnel have instructed exchange guests to contact the resort and ask to be moved to a different unit than the unit that was accepted from the exchange company originally.  Not all of our condominiums are available to exchange guests.  It is therefore never possible to change units from what you accepted from your exchange company.  The dates listed on your exchange are the days we have available for you, adding days prior to of after the dates you have reserved is not possible.  There are rental units available if you would like to extend your stay.  As a valued Vacation Club guest, we are pleased to offer a 10% discount off of regular rental rates.
 
Helpful notes when planning your stay:
  • Exhange guests must be 21 or older to check-in.
  • Pets are not allowed with the exception of service dogs with appropriate papers.
  • A $250 deposit, cash or check, or a Master Card or VISA number will be taken at check-in for security purposes.  We are unable to check anyone in without a securtiy deposit.
  • Please bring your confirmation from your exchange company with you to check-in.  ONLY those people listed on the confirmation will be allowed to check into your unit.
  • Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. until close.  Please call prior to arrival to verify front desk hours as they change seasonally.  If you will be arriving after-hours, please contact our office during business hours so we can advise you of after-hours check-in procedures.
  • Check-out time is 10:00 a.m.  In order to facilitate having units ready for arriving guests by 4:00 p.m., it is necessary for all departing guests to check-out by 10:00 a.m.  Late check-out requests cannot be honored.
  • Each unit is supplied with a starter set of toilet paper, Kleenex, coffee/filter, paper towels, and soap.  When the supply has depleted, you are responsible for any additional supplies during your stay.  Salt and pepper is not supplied.  Guests staying for a full week will receive a midweek spiff on Tuesday.  A spiff includes changing of the bed linens and towels, garbage removal, and light vacuuming.  If you have a special request for your housekeeper, please let them know during your spiff.  If you will be out of your unit, please leave a note on the counter.  We are happy to accommodate.
  • If you should need a cot, highchair, or Pac-n-Play during your stay, please contact our office at lease one week in advance of your arrival.  We will make arrangements for the rental of these items and will have them in your unit upon your arrival.  The cost is $5.00 per day for a cot of $25 for seven days, and $3.00 per day or $15.00 for seven days for a highchair or Pac-n-Play. Crib sheets and blankets are not provided.  Payment is required at check-in.
  • If you are sending a guest in your place, a guest certificate from your exchange company will be needed.
**RCI Points Members** RCI Points Members staying less than a Friday-Friday stay will be required to pay an additional housekeeping fee, as stated on your RCI confirmation, at check-in.  You may call our office prior to arrival to inquire what the fee will be.
 
Vacation Club has provided this information so you can evaluate the location and size of your assigned unit as well as amenities available.  This will allow you to contact your exchange company and request a different exchange if our facilities are not consistent with your needs and expectations.  Vacations are too important to accept an exchange where you will not be satisfied.  If you have any questions, or we can be of service, please contact us at 888-275-0100.
